COVID 19: BALANCING ACT
Over the past few weeks, I have seen many discussions about how we should be managing ourselves during these unprecedented times of COVID 19. The truth is, there is no right or wrong answer. It all comes down to a balancing act. Being able to shift between the roles of entrepreneur, therapist, wife, mother, fitness enthusiast, student, sister, and friend all take a careful blend of time and energy. By being honest about your emotions, you open the door to real self-awareness. Listen to your body and take time to rest when you need it, keep the lines of communication open with those close to you, and most importantly, set and maintain boundaries that will continue to protect your energy and keep you sane. Despite what you may be reading on social media, there is no standard equation to balance, and you are not lazy if you don't focus on that long standing dream. We don't have control over when we will get back to our new normal. However, those things that are within our control are what we should focus on. So take this time to master your locus of control, increase your current level of self-awareness, and above everything else, breathe. Because there is a mantra that still holds true; if you can control your breath, you can control your life.
